I'm just sharing this as a warning that even if the Democrats win big in November, even if the right people are allowed to put their hands on the controls -- once again we might not be able to fix everything.
In Robert Greene's sbook, "The 48 Laws of Power", one of these laws he discusses is to "cultivate an air of unpredictability". So I have to sometimes wonder: what if the Republicans -- even if they won both houses, which is not at all likely -- decide to serve up George W. Bush to his critics & allow them to do their worst to him. Impeach him. Send to jail with Bubba who likes middle-ages guys with smirks to play with. Or hand him over in handcuffs to any random choice third-world militants, who would enjoy reviving some ancient customs about how to treat prisoners of war for his benefit. This certainly wouldn't be something we'd predict that the Republicans might do.
